After 1997, a Danish company purchased RS Jorgen Amundsen, renaming her Svendborgsund. She was in service in Denmark until 2015. Throughout this time, the ship had been meticulously maintained.

In 2020, we bought MV Jorgen Amundsen in Svendborg, Denmark, with the idea of transforming her into a research ship. We went back to her original name, as we wanted to honour her origins.

After much work, MV Jorgen Amundsen has now been transformed into a cutting-edge survey vessel, perfectly equipped to support small teams of scientists on a wide range of expeditions.

From state-of-the-art IT systems and meticulously maintained engines to modular sensor exchange and expedition-specific equipment, our vessel and crew are equipped to handle the most demanding research and exploration tasks.
